Ordered a new phone which came today, but I’m not opening the box and setting it up until the case comes in from Amazon . I’m working all weekend anyway, and I’ll be on a boat Sunday, so I guess this is the responsible decision?

I almost never had any case on my phone, at best a leather pouch but the last one i had was like 5 years ago.

But i’m a professional , don’t try to repeat this behavior at home !

I took my case off in March, thinking it would be easier to clean it ( had one of those google pixel cloth covers). I know it’s risqué to go naked but it feels good man.

I did the same thing. My new phone arrived Monday, but I didn’t set it up till the case came Wednesday.

You’re doing the right thing. If at all possible I won’t own a phone I can’t get an Otterbox for, preferably a Defender. This last upgrade, I had the case before the phone arrived. I only want it out of a case long enough to do physical setup.

I’ve done that with my Pixel 2 and it’s worked out fine-ish. Scratched on the back but fine otherwise.

I don’t like cases or screen protectors , but with how expensive even average phones are, you're crazy not to.

I’ve always had otterbox cases but I’ve decided against it this time because it’s bulky and the screen sizes keep going up . I liked the size of my 7 , I can’t stand having xl or max phones for the pocket or console... Perhaps my pockets aren’t that deep (which works both ways really).

Some people are atrocious with phone handling, I seem to be okay *knocks on wood*

Fair enough. I have a like/hate relationship with Telus. They have the fastest internet around here, but they continually jacked up the price until I finally told them to get stuffed and switched to Shaw for the next two years.

We have a standing instruction with our kids. If they break their phones, they are responsible for the insurance deductib le. One day, I noticed my daughter had taken her phone out of its case. I reminded her about the risks and her responsibility. She gave me the usual teenager response. Ten minutes later, she knocked the phone off the bar and it shattered when it hit the tile floor. She learned a bit about adulting that day.

I unfortunately only have one internet option, and it's SaskTel. I pay $75 a month for 25 Mbps down unlimited. It feels like a rip-off some days.

No cases for me. Usually works out ok. Did put a small chip in my S7 after three years of ownership, but not a big deal. Haven’t broken one to the point where it needed to be replaced in over a decade (and that was weird, I’m not sure a case would have helped) , so I think I’m doing ok.
